Geek Dinner Success

The previously mentioned geek dinner went off without a hitch last Sunday night. We had an excellent crowd, filling up the back room at the dinner location with a nice mix of social media types. We had bloggers, podcasters and social media professionals alike, mixed in with a few VC and marketing type folks. The room was hot with conversation and folks making connections.
Cameron Reilly was interviewing Michael Geoghegan over in the corner. Mike Dunn was taking plenty of photos with his new camera. NYC Podcasters Adam, Jason and Mark were plotting something over at the table by the entry to our room. David Parmet was definitely enjoying the wine and appetizers. I found out that Mary Jo Foley is from the neigborhood down there in the West Village so I gushed about my favorite sandwich place. Dusty Wright filled me in on the happenings at his new online culture podcast/vidcast magazine Culture Catch.
Some folks on the biz side of things included Lee Wilkens, John Federico, Renee Blodgett, Greg Snyder and many more. Check out the Wiki for a more complete list.
It was good to see and hear folks from different places and disciplines expressing their excitement about where we are going with blogs, podcasting, video podcasting and associated technologies. As someone a lot smarter than me once said, “These are interesting times we’re living in.”
