Caribou Coffee Podcast

I see that the CEO of Caribou Coffee has made an announcement via a podcast. The RSS link is http://feeds.feedburner.com/caribou. The talk on the podcast is about Caribou’s strategic relationship with Apple Computer that involves music promotion.
In the podcast, Caribou CEO Michael Coles compares Apple’s battles with Microsoft to Caribou’s competition with an un-named coffee chain. Starbucks anyone?
Content aside, this is a very good idea. The voice of a CEO sends a more powerful and clearer message than a press release. In this case the message is being distributed to a public audience. But it could just as well be an internal message distributed to the firm’s employees.
Using a low cost rss reader that supports podcasts like Attensa, employees could have the audio file delivered directly to Outlook for listening on their computer.
In the age of heightened corporate scrutiny, anything you do to insure the delivery of clear and concise messages from company leaders is a good investment. In this case, the investment happens to be a very low cost one as well.
