Box.net and Netvibes are teaming up to offer users of Netvibes 1GB of free personal storage space that they can manage right from a module on their start page. I haven’t really covered the impacts of low cost storage and bandwidth on social media. There is not doubt that the lower cost of storage and great availability of bandwidth are assisting with the development of cutting edge social media technologies.
Developments such as this one are surely welcome to folks running virtual companies. After all, who among road warriors doesn’t need a spare GB of space for storing files that can be easily accessed from the web browser?
