I recently found a new photo sharing service called Slide. Slide allows you to share photo slides shows that you create from images of your choosing or RSS feeds on the web. Once you’ve identified the media you want to capture, Slide gives you the option of embedding a flash player in a website or viewing the pictures on your desktop via their photo player.
More on how the service is working for me personally is likely to be seen here later. But what really caught my eye was one of the collections of photos on the site. The collection was for Zappos shoes. This company knows that the visual aspect of their line of products is a very important one. They want their shoes to be seen as much as possible. Makes sense to me.
So what they’ve done is create a Zappos collection over on Slide where they are showing off thousands of shoe lines and styles. As the photos scroll by you can click on an image and it takes the user right to a Zappos purchase page for that item. Now that’s a great business idea.
If you’re in a business where a visual representation is important, then use free and low cost photo sharing sites to give others a taste of what you have to offer. The price will be right and the increased exposure will surely be welcome in your business.
