Stats are a critical part of the Social Media strategy of any business. Two companies that have helped blogger and podcasters keep track of their stats are FeedBurner and BlogBeat.

Today, the Feedburner blog announces that they have acquired BlogBeat. BlogBeat was a pay service and now their stats will be incorporated into FeedBurner’s Standard Stats for free. According to the Blogbeat website, “Blogbeat functionality will be incorporated into FeedBurner’s StandardStats service, which is free. FeedBurner will provide a full refund to all Blogbeat customers. Additional and optional fee-based enhancements are slated to launch in 2007.”

FeedBurner had this to say, “FeedBurner customers will have a means of comparing feed trends and metrics to site metrics in some interesting and non-traditional ways.”

The addition of the Blogbeat functionality will be just one more reason why FeedBurner provides excellent value to those who use their service to power RSS feeds.
