If you’re a publisher of podcasts there’s a good chance that you’ve heard of LibSyn. And since they have over 4000 users publishing podcasts there’s an even better chance that you’ve used their services at one time or another.
Recently, the folks at LibSyn threw their hat in the ring to provide business class podcast publishing and hosting via LibSyn Pro.
The Libsyn Pro website describes their business level offering as, “Built from the ground up, we took the best features of our very popular Libsyn personal system and added the elements businesses demand: World class distribution network, 99.99% Service Level Guarantee, Turnkey, ultra-simple workflow.”
The new site includes some screenshots of their new offering, which appears to be tailored toward the brand of the business using the service.
I have a history with Libsyn as a user since May 2005 and I have been very impressed with the system that they have created for publishing podcasts. They have managed to make it very simple for everyday people to publish an iTunes compatible podcast channel. The users have responded by signing up by the thousands even though LibSyn has not had the benefit of any kind of an ad campaign.
It’s true that there have been hiccups at times that have caused problems on the LibSyn network. But the team behind LibSyn has been very quick to respond to these situations, always providing details on what caused the errors. LibSyn also has very fair pricing and download stats that are as good as anything I’ve seen in the podcasting space.
The new site provides no details on the pricing or storage limitations of the plans. Interested businesses can inquire through their contact page.
Given LibSyn’s overall positive track record in this space I would recommend that businesses considering publishing their own podcasts check out what LibSyn has to offer.
