Akismet Rewind

I mentioned Akismet back in May but it’s a tool worth mentioning again now that I’m harping on social media security.
Aksimet is a plugin for WordPress and over 20 other systems that filters out unwanted spam messages on your site. When you utilize the Akismet plugin you share information and get the benefit of shared information from a centralized database that recognizes the characteristics of typical spam messages. Using this collective, ever growing knowledge base Akismet can continue to protect your site from spam comments even as the spammers get smarter.
I encourage you to take a look at the Akismet website and my previous post on the topic to get more information. The tool has worked very well for me, stopping 99% of spam messages before they get into my moderation queue.

I didn’t know Akismet was available for Drupal. Thanks, Rob.

You’re welcome. It looks like they’ve added some systems over the last few months. I hope someone is able to adapt Akismet for MediaWiki.
