Hear A Good Book

It’s a little known fact that once upon a time I wrote a book. In fact, the writing of that book is what prompted me to start Awakened Voice as a vehicle to promote my work. In the summer of 2004 I decided to record the book in audio form since I knew that I wanted to distribute my book in audio form via the internet.
A few months after completing the audio book I got into podcasting and created a podcast feed for the chapters of the book. A few months after that I was contacted by Evo Terra. Evo told me he was starting a new site called Podiobooks.com and that he was interested in including my book there.
The concept behind Podiobooks is a very simple one. They recruit creators of original audiobooks to contribute their books which can then be distributed free via podcast under a Creative Commons license. The site and the authors are then supported via donations and advertising deals.
I think this is a good model. Podiobooks is merging the distribution capabilities of podcasting and the interest in independently produced audio books. And there’s no DRM involved so writers get maximum exposure for their work.
