Technorati Starts Newsletter

I just got an email from Technorati letting me know that I’m signed up for their newsletter. Huh? It’s a new thing called Buzz Monitor.
According to the email from Technorati, “The Buzz Monitor will be your weekly update of what’s happening on the web, right now. We’ll pipe you headlines from the blogosphere, photos from our members, tips and tricks for our publishers, and guides for our users.”
Sounds like fun, but I’m not sure I like this automatic opt-in approach. There is a link to immediately unsubscribe from Buzz Monitor. I just think it would have been a little nicer to be invited to subscribe instead.
In any case, I’m interested so I’ll check the first issue before deciding if I want to unsub.
