Vox Populi

Vox is a new social network/blogging service run by the folks at Six Apart.
From the looks of it Vox goes beyond the basic blogging and community features you get with Blogger and WordPress.com, offering more advanced photo, audio and video integration.
I haven’t used the service so I can’t speak on how good the features actually are. It appears that Vox is aiming at grabbing a younger, less tech savvy crowd than WordPress.com, Blogger or even Six Apart’s own TypePad service.
Since they already have a web based blogging service that costs some money, Six Apart is essentially competing with themselves in launching the free Vox service. Their bet must be that new, business focused bloggers will go with TypePad over Vox. But Vox has the added value of a built in community which may be more attractive to people just getting their business blogs off the ground.
