I Want Full Feeds

Eric Rice weighs in on the full vs. partial RSS feed debate. This stems from a long running debate between RSS publishers and subscribers.
Some publishers only include a portion of the actual content in their feeds so that readers will be forced to come to their sites and view the content and maybe a few nicely placed advertisements.
I’m of the opinion that RSS is all about convenience and choice. I choose to subscribe to the content. I’m not subscribing to the site, I’m subscribing to the content. I also choose to visit the originating site when I feel like it. Thank you to the publishers who allow me to make those choices.
Partial content feeds are most annoying when they are consumed offline, like when I’m on an airplane. And I spend lots of time on airplanes.
I want full feeds please

I totally agree. Right now, I’m thinking about unsubscribing from a couple of Weblogs, Inc. feeds ever since they’ve gone to a partial feed format. They don’t limit every post, but usually all of the really good articles contain a “Continue reading this article” link. Why can’t they just stick ads inside their RSS? Nobody will really care about them. They must be really hard-up for pageviews.
