Bill Marriott Blogging And Podcasting

Bill Marriott, the CEO of Marriott Hotels is blogging and podcasting. This news is nothing new. In fact I reported on this over on my Red Room Chronicles blog. What’s really notable is the fact that I think that he’s doing it real well.
There have been four posts to the Marriott On The Move blog in the last week on topics ranging from the Marriott hotel business to Pilates and U.S border policy.
So far each post has included a nice image and all but the first have contained an MP3 enclosure that contains the text of the post read by Bill himself. So he’s podcasting too!
The posts are thoughtful and sincere. The comments are attracting interaction from a worldwide audience.
This effort may just be a drop in the bucket for a major corporation like Marriott. Being a frequent traveler to Marriott hotels (as well as an RSS junkie) I already feel a little bit closer to the company.
