Starting A Blog

I got a call from a friend of a friend the other day who wanted some information about blogging. The conversation went something like this.
Friend: I’m thinking of starting a blog.
Me: Okay, then start one.
Friend: Well, I want to know if I can make money from a blog.
Me: It’s possible, but first you need to build an audience and a brand.
Friend: How do I do that?
Me: Pick a topic you’re passionate about. Write frequently. Engage your audience.
Friend: That sounds like a lot of hard work.
Me: Indeed it is.
