Acquia Gets Funding For Commercial Drupal Firm

I want to congratulate Dries Buytaert and his team over at Acquia on the news that they have gained funding for their Drupal focused startup. According to their website, “Acquia is a new software company that will provide value-added software products and services for the Drupal web collaboration and publishing platform.”
Acquia is much like Automattic, which is the commercial arm of WordPress. Dries Buytaert, the co-founder of Acquia, is also the founder of Drupal which gives me great confidence that this commercial venture will support the community in a very strong way.
I look forward to seeing how Acquia fares in the marketplace and will report on significant events accordingly.
