I recently joined the lifestream/microblogging service Jaiku thanks to an invite from my pal Eric Rice. You can now follow me over there at http://robsafuto.jaiku.com. Be warned that my Jaiku presence contains info from just about everything I do on the internet. The fact that I can easily aggregate all of the things that I [...]

I won’t bother going into a soliloquy about the reasons why taking someone’s feed over without their knowledge is wrong.
Have a look at the following blog post from Rob Walch at Podcast411. It details the odyssey of a podcaster who decided to submit her feed to Podango.

Yesterday at the Future of Online Advertising Conference Brent Hill of FeedBurner made a seemingly innocuous comment that I really disagree with.
Brent stated that RSS wasn’t really for infrequent publishers. He indicated that RSS was more suited to frequent publishers. I disagree with his first assertion.
Offering RSS is good for any publisher for a variety [...]

Create a tool to search for a term across multiple sites. I did that here.
One of the coolest things about Yahoo Pipes is the fact that you can view and edit the [...]

Randy Morin’s R-Mail service is catching on. He just announced that R-Mail is at the 50,000 user mark.
R-Mail is a free service that delivers RSS content to your email inbox. Any person can subscribe to any RSS feed by entering a feed address and their email on the R-Mail home page. New RSS content gets [...]

Yahoo! has introduced a new mystery app simply called Pipes.
According to the Pipes website, “Pipes is an interactive feed aggregator and manipulator. Using Pipes, you can create feeds that are more powerful, useful and relevant.”
Sounds very interesting to an RSS geek like me. I should have some time to play around with this tomorrow.

The new Blogger has been out of beta for a little while now so recently I decided to switch some of my podcast sites based on Blogger over from the old version to the new and improved version.
Despite multiple assurances on the screen that everything would be okay with the switch over something has happened [...]

Eric Rice weighs in on the full vs. partial RSS feed debate. This stems from a long running debate between RSS publishers and subscribers.
Some publishers only include a portion of the actual content in their feeds so that readers will be forced to come to their sites and view the content and maybe a few [...]
